[Ewha Womans University Library] How to borrow and return book

EwhaLibrary 2021. 3. 5. 16:37

Undergraduate students can borrow up to 10 books for 14 days. Graduate students can borrow up to 20 books for 30 days.

Put the books you want to check out in the space below the screen.

Select the language in the screen. English, Chinese (mandarin) and Japanese are available in the Central Library (2F)

Select whether you want to return (Check in) or take out (Check out) the books.

You will be requested to scan your student I.D. You can use the mobile I.D. or the physical student I.D. Card.

Scan your card student ID or mobile student ID card. Scan the student ID card at the upper scanline and the mobile student ID (QR code) at the lower scanline.

When the student ID recognition is complete, you will see the 'Connecting to your account' screen.

The borrowable books are displayed in green and non-borrowable in red. Some of the materials in the hall on the second floor, such as popular books and books of this week, are not available to borrow.

Once you have available books to borrow, press the 'Done' button when all the books you want to check out are confirmed. You can also print a confirmation receipt if needed.

You have borrowed your books!

When borrowing a book you have reserved, go to the Circulation desk on the 2nd Floor and present your student I.D. card to borrow the book. These books will be kept for 3 days. There is a penalty if the books are not picked up. If 3 reserved books are not checked out on time, you will be banned from applying for reservation for 30 days.

Put the books you want to check out in the space below the screen.

Select the language in the screen. English, Chinese (mandarin) and Japanese are available in the Central Library (2F).

Select whether you want to return (Check in) or take out (Check out) the books.

You will be requested to scan your I.D. You can use the mobile I.D. or the physical Student I.D. Card.

At this point, normally returned books are marked in green and non-returnable books are marked in red. You must take the books marked in red to the circulation desk on the 2nd floor. The staff will explain why it was marked in red and return it manually.

Press the 'Done' button when all the books you want to return are confirmed. You can also print a confirmation receipt if needed.

The Self-Return machines are located at the 1st floor gate of the Central Library, the ECC B3 Ewha YBM Reading Room and the Student Union Building (학문관).

First, select the language you wish to use. These machines are available in English, French, German and Spanish.

Put the books one by one in the space that opens up.

The status will go green if the item is returnable.

If not, the status will go red. You need to take these books to a library desk to return.

There are things to be noted when you return the books using the machine.

If the red mark of the self-loan return machine is left there, or if too many books are put in the self return machine all at once or forced to send non-returnable books, late fees can be imposed and you can be restricted from using the library. If caught once, warning measures will be taken, and the use of library materials and facilities will be suspended if you are warned two or more times.

First, log into your Ewha account on the library website and click Summary Information.

This will display the information regarding your status in the library.

Then, click on Borrowing > (number) In process.

You can check the due date and other information here.

When you have not extended the due date yet, you can press Renew. This will extend the due date. You can extend the due date up to twice.

If you have linked your phone number to your Eureka account, you will receive messages on Kakao Talk.
